LaBelle Winery Black Tie Gala Raises More Than $10,000 to Benefit New Hampshire Kids

Amherst, N.H. – To celebrate its fifth anniversary at its Amherst, N.H., location LaBelle Winery hosted a black tie gala on Feb. 10, 2018 from 6 to 10 pm to benefit charities serving local children and youths, including Empowering Angels, a nonprofit founded by LaBelle Winery co-owner Amy LaBelle in 2017. The gala, held at the winery’s Amherst event center, included valet parking; formal photography; a four-course surf and turf dinner; live music by Do I Do; dancing; and a fireworks display.

The event was attended by 183 guests.

Local companies that served as gala sponsors were Cross Insurance; Enterprise Bank; Bigelow & Company CPA PLLC; Gottesman & Hollis P.A.; Boyd & Boufford Insurance Agency LLC; Nixon Peabody; and Borislow Insurance.

Companies that donated goods and services to serve as gala partners were Atlas Fireworks; Harrington Flowers; Do I Do Band; P.J.’s Flowers & Weddings; Marina Zinovyeva Photography; Queen City Cupcakes; Kelly Anne Photography; TSG Weddings; Special Events of New England LLC; Dachowski Photography; and Allison Hope Photography.

Empowering Angels empowers girls and young women to embrace the possibility of entrepreneurship as an option toward achieving their goals by providing education in basic business skills and strategies and through providing women role models by which these young entrepreneurs can model their behavior.

The organization calls upon community mentors to coach young girls in their journey toward a future career.

“Our fifth year anniversary benefit gala was a great success,” says Amy LaBelle, LaBelle Winery’s co-owner and winemaker. “We have accomplished a lot in the last five years, but the most rewarding part of owning a successful and growing business is the ability to give back to the community through charitable giving. My husband, Cesar, and I believe that the stronger we are as a company the more we can do to support our schools, women’s and children’s initiatives, and so much more.”

A portion of gala ticket sales raised $2,500 for each charity represented. In addition to Empowering Angels, there were Girls Inc. of New Hampshire, a nonprofit organization that encourages all girls to be “strong, smart, and bold” through direct service and advocacy; and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s New Hampshire Tomorrow initiative, which works to help New Hampshire’s kids achieve greater success by investing in four proven areas: early childhood development, family and youth supports, preventing and treating drug and alcohol use, and creating affordable pathways from education to career.

Guests also made private donations: $5,172 to Empowering Angels and more than $4,000 to Girls Inc.
