Amherst, N.H. –  Amy LaBelle, LaBelle Winery’s founder, co-owner and winemaker, was honored with the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Excellence in Business award on Friday, Nov. 16 at the Inaugural Women’s Entrepreneurship Day New Hampshire’s High Tea in Henniker, New Hampshire.

Heidi Solomon, a member of WED New Hampshire’s board, says LaBelle was chosen as a recipient of this year’s Excellence in Business Award because, “Amy LaBelle is a perfect example of the success that can happen if you follow your passion and are willing to take some risk. LaBelle Winery leads by example with their commitment to excellence and focus on embracing and supporting the community.”

Solomon notes that just this year LaBelle Winery has made donations in support of 1,300 nonprofits who also align the with the WED mission.

“I’m so honored to be chosen to receive the WED award in its inaugural year, and I’m grateful to have met so many powerful and interesting women at the celebration,” LaBelle says.

The theme of the inaugural event was “Personal Connections in a Digital World.” The focus was on the importance of networking and building personal relationships when trying to establish and/or grow a small business. The event also included an opportunity to donate to local charities that support women and children.

The mission of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day organization is to alleviate poverty by empowering, celebrating and supporting women in business and inspiring girls to be leaders.
