LaBelle Riesling Takes Silver at IEWC’s Riesling Championship

LaBelle Winery is proud to announce having won a Silver Medal at the International Eastern Wine Competition’s 2012 Riesling Championship. Wines were judged from a field of over 800 wines, and LaBelle Winery was the only winery from the New England states to place in the Semi-Dry (0.91 – 2.00% residual sugars) Riesling category.

This year, the IEWC’s eligibility rules changed to allow wineries from as far west as the Rockies to enter the competition, which significantly increased the pool of entrants. Yet, LaBelle’s Riesling stood far enough out from the sea of competition to snag a Silver Medal.

Winemaker Amy LaBelle is proud of this accomplishment, but as always, sets her sights even higher: “This is a prestigious award, and we are very happy. Next year: GOLD.”
