Successful lawyer turned wine maker is not a career path one usually hears about. Amy LaBelle, owner of Labelle Winery, lived and worked in Boston for fifteen years as a business attorney specializing in plea benefits and mergers, then as part of the legal team for Fidelity Investments. A native of western Massachusetts, Amy was content living in her Boston brownstone. She had a comfortable life, friends and family nearby, and was steadily paying off her student loans. It wasn’t until she took a summer vacation to Nova Scotia in 2001 that she would realize her life-altering passion.
