LaBelle Winery

A Note from Amy & Cesar

Dear Friends,

We're getting ready to harvest and crush here at LaBelle Winery, our most exciting time of the year and we're keeping our fingers crossed for October 1st as the actual harvest day.  Our Vineyard Club members will join us in harvesting and partake in the first step in winemaking, called crush, followed by a lovely brunch where we celebrate the bountiful harvest and friendship.  Harvesting with Cesar and I and LaBelle staff is a fun Vineyard Club membership benefit.  This year we're adding into the mix of activities our very first grape stomp (Lucy style) and each Vineyard Club member will receive a commemorative t-shirt to remember the moment! If you're not a Vineyard Club member, consider joining as we'd love to have you as part of our Winery family too.

Soon will be receiving thousands of pounds of additional grapes from our trusted Northeast growers.  That means we are currently very busy in the wine cellar, bottling what's ready and waiting in our Italian-made stainless steel tanks and French oak wine barrels, which will make room for the incoming grapes and fruit that will be processed the same day it is received.  It takes a lot of strategic planning to make the processing and receiving schedule work just right as wine can be temperamental as well as the grapes that are ready to be harvested.  As well as we can plan, plan, and plan some more, Mother Nature takes the lead in all of the decisions.  Wine making cannot be forced or rushed.

The Vineyard at LaBelle Winery will produce about 2,001 bottles of wine each year, which will be bottled as LaBelle estate wine.  Last year's estate wine is going to bottle now and has a new, eye-catching label which we know you'll love for its artistic representation of the spirit of harvest day 2015.  We've named the estate wines, Amherst Vineyard Red and Amherst Vineyard White.  We felt these names perfectly represented our very first harvest estate wine and our beloved town.

Happy Crush and we hope to see you all at the Winery soon!
