LaBelle Winery

A Note from Amy & Cesar

Dear Friends,

We're in the midst of planning our fall fermentations, getting ready to order our 20+ types of yeasts and plan our fall "crush" schedule.  Wines that are in tank now are headed to bottle, leaving tanks open to receive the upcoming season's juice. Our vineyard manager tends to the vines daily, and although the lawn is showing signs of drought, the vines are looking healthy.  This ongoing hot weather without rain can be stressful for the vines, but so far the grapes growth pattern is on track and they are thriving.   We are currently predicting a very nice harvest.

When preparing our wine cellar production schedule for 30+ wine varieties (which is a daunting task), is completed, we then wait, like expectant parents for the "due date" for our whites and reds to be harvested.  Mother Natures takes a lead role in determining the actual date.  We'll keep you posted!

Simultaneously, alongside the vines, our 1-acre vegetable garden is producing beautiful vegetables used in our Bistro fare.  Our chefs harvest the produce daily and incorporate the bounty into are summer inspired delights. We'll reach out to Vineyard Club Members in August with more information on our harvest day celebration and gourmet breakfast & brunch buffet, when we will also debut our wines made from grapes harvested last fall!

On another note, this summer has been exciting for me on a personal level.  I've completed my next level of wine making certification at UC Davis in CA with a class in Wine Chemistry.  The class was challenging but worthwhile.  I look forward to implementing what I've learned so I can bring to you the best possible wine.

Wishing you a great summer and we look forward to seeing you at LaBelle in the Bistro, or at the tasting bar, or at one of our many hosted programs!

Cheers,

Amy and Cesar
