LaBelle Winery

A Note from Amy & Cesar

Finally, we are beginning to think about Spring in the LaBelle Winery Vineyard!  Though the vines have been dormant through the cold winter, and they may look “dead,” there is a lot of activity occurring inside!    As you can see from the picture, taken just this past Saturday at our Winter Family Fun Fest, during a Vineyard Talk with Vineyard Manager John Temchack, the vine’s interior is still green and healthy!  A good sign, for sure, after this very cold winter.  The nascent grape buds are embedded within with vines and will become next year’s grape harvest.  As the snow melts, the vines will begin to rehydrate in preparation for “Bud Break” which we will celebrate in early May.

We eagerly await the excitement that Spring will bring to the Vineyard at LaBelle Winery. Personally, I look forward to my first afternoon vineyard pruning, the warm sun on my back, carefully clipping and readying the vineyard for a year of excellent growth.

Best Wishes,
Amy & Cesar

Dry Apple

The Tasting Room News

Featured Wine of the Month: Dry Apple

Crisp, Fresh, Light and Dry

If you like Pinot Grigio, you’ll love this wine made only from New Hampshire-grown apples! Small batches of our favorite apple varieties are fermented immediately after pressing at a low temperature. This preserves the fruity freshness, yet lends a crisp calvados nose to our flagship wine. A wonderful aperitif, this wine is also excellent with seafood, poultry, light meals, or to balance a creamy, heavy one. Drink this dry wine as you would any white wine.  Best chilled.

Pair with: Seafood, poultry or creamy pasta dishes.

Fun facts:

• First year produced: 2005

• 100% Apples – blend of Hybrid & Heirloom varieties

• Can be bottle-aged up to 5 years

• Acidity: 3.7 pH

• Residual Sugar: < 1%

• Fruit Source: Alyson’s Orchard – Walpole, NH
